This coming Saturday is my official presentation at the SEPCHE Conference. SEPCHE is a group of Catholic Universities in the area who meet together for the conference. I will be presenting my paper on EPCOT, in a hopefully 13 minute speech. Being so excited about my topic, my speech has gone a bit long, I have it currently timed out at 14, so going to work in the next couple days to shave off a minute. I'll let you know how it goes after the conference along with some photos probably. I will also be posting my powerpoint and parts of my paper in the future, so keep checking here for all of my research info!

In the game, the player is using rhythms and music to beat Dr. Hamsterviel on many levels. Here's what the game is about, taken right from the official press release:
"Disney Stitch Jam allows players to help Stitch take part in action-filled rhythm-based missions to defeat Dr. Hamsterviel in an epic galactic showdown. Players will become immersed in 10 visually stunning locations including tropical beaches, a frozen city, the deep forest and many more environments while jamming to the rhythm. Players will complete musical missions by dodging obstacles, gathering cool collectibles, slamming enemies and unlocking accessories and costumes to disguise Stitch and his friends. Once players complete story mode, they will be able to play in free mode as other fun characters from the world of Stitch including Angel, Reuben and Felix."
The game can also be a two player game with a download option, allowing two people to play together as Stitch and Angel. Disney Stitch Jam is rated E for Everyone and is about $19.99.

I get all my Disney history from an amazing website called This Day in Disney History. For this week's history, there is a post on the 13th about Walt sending a telegram to Roy after they had lost their prize character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to a ruthless producer named Charles Mintz. As I read this, I paused. For some reason, that name sounded familiar and I was not sure why. Then it dawned on me: The villain in Disney/Pixar's Up is named Charles Muntz!! If you look up the Up character, he is described as greedy and paranoid and, when you search for both names, you find out from several articles that this is exactly what the producer intended.
I found this to be very interesting and I was not sure if many people knew about this connection, so I thought I would share. And as a side note, I would like to wish my greatest congratulations to everyone involved with Up for winning the Best Animated Feature award at the Academy Awards last night. It was well deserved!

Once you close out of the videos, there are star doors for some of the big Muppet stars and inside are lots of fun stuff, including some more great videos. make sure to check out all of the Muppet's videos, they are just great. My personal favorites are the series of Impressions that Kermit does on his page...I was laughing my head off for a good few minutes watching them.
So if anyone is looking for something to pass the time on this Friday or any day, just head over to www.muppets.com and check out their site and videos and prepare to laugh!
