Mickey Mouse Band-Aids

Everyone gets those little cuts and scrapes in life, so why not cover those up in style, Disney style!

Johnson and Johnson’s BAND-AID brand makes the coolest Band-Aids with Mickey Mouse pictures on them. Not only do they look cool, they work quite well, just as you would expect from BAND-AID. I had one on for an entire day at work and it survived through several hand washings, writing with chalk, and other teacher duties.

They come in two sizes in the box, 5/8 inch by 2 ¼ inch and ¾ inch by 3 inch. There is a warning on the wrappers about Latex being used, so if you or anyone in your family has a latex allergy, I would avoid these Band-Aids.

As if Band-Aids with Mickey weren’t cool enough, the collector’s edition container that they come in makes it even more awesome! It’s a tin that is about 4 inches tall, 2 inches wide and an inch deep. It is not the sturdiest container in the world as I could bend it with my fingers when it was open, but it is very cute and could be used to hold little candies or gum or even just be used as a display item by us Disney collectors.

I have found the tins selling on Amazon.com for about $8 but I have also seen them sold in Target stores, so if you are interested in this unique set of Band-Aids, check those stores.

Mickey Birthday Party Ideas

Yesterday was the birthday party for my best friend's nephew and his mom had the awesome idea of having a Mickey birthday party! Her ideas were so awesome that I just had to share it with you guys!

This Week's It Came From Disney!

Readers find out about my other interests this week in my Disney Dispatch article.  But just because I have other interests doesn't mean that I can't find a way to incorporate Disney into them! Read my article to find out exactly how I did that this week.

The start of 8 great teaching weeks!

In the fall semester of Junior year at Neumann University, elementary education majors have field experience, where we go out into schools to observe and teach, for 8 Thursdays. Today was my first day. I am teaching and observing in a 4th grade classroom at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Delaware. I was a little nervous this morning because I have never worked with kids this old for so long before and I was kinda worried that they would be taller than me. When my fellow students and I got there, we met with the principal and got a tour of the school and she answered a lot of our questions that we needed for one of our assignments. She then took us to our teachers.

We walked passed a room and I stopped for a second and admired the Mickey Mouse banner that was outside welcoming everyone, almost missing when the principal said "This is the 4th grade room one of you are in. As you can tell, she is a big Mickey fan". I was so excited!!!!! My mentor teacher liked Disney!!! Not only does she like Disney I later found out, but her daughter is a Supervisor in the cafeteria at All Star Music and her daughter's husband is a chef!!! She went down 2 times this summer!!! Her room is covered in Mickey's; I felt right at home! I am so excited to be in this classroom, the teacher is nice and the kids are so well behaved! I think this is going to be a real fun semester!!!

Awesome D23 Gift!!!

It is my official opinion that D23 is definitely worth the money!!! With all of the amazing things that came in my official D23 package that I got last week, I thought it was. But the package that came in the mail on the 6th made it even moreso!

Inside a small tube, there was a letter, a Certificate of Authenticity and this poster:This was the gift from the Walt Disney Studios Archives, with an official seal and all! It was a huge poster and, though I am keeping it safe in the tube now, it will definitely be hanging on the wall in my home one day! It is just such a treasure! If you were second guessing getting D23, I would highly recommend it!
