Giving in Memory

Cosmic Chris Reid is looking for your help! He has started a fund to raise money for DKMS Americas and is looking for donations.

Last summer, Cosmic Reid's Starlight Cafe partnered with DKMS Americas to help find a bone marrow match for 11 year old Shannon Tavarez, who suffered from acute myelogenous leukemia.  Shannon was a Disney Cast Member, performing on stage in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway as Young Nala. Sadly, Shannon lost her battle with leukemia and passed away November 2, 2010.

In her honor and memory, Chris has started a fundraiser to raise money for DKMS Americas.  This money will go towards registering more bone marrow donors so that more people have the chance to find a match.  It costs DKMS $65 per potential donor, an expensive cost for a non-profit organization.  Chris' goal is to raise $500 by the first of August, which I think can be easily done with all of the amazing Disney fans out there! Lets help Chris reach his goal in memory of that amazing and strong girl!
