Miles and Miles of Magic: The Results

As I said before my trip to Disney, I would be wearing a pedometer for the trip and calculating how many miles I walk every day.  This worked for the most part, but I did run into a couple problems. There were a couple days that my pedometer was not working so well, but luckily my sister had a back up pedometer to help me keep track of the steps. I was surprised at the lengths, they were less than I thought they would be.

Here are my approximate totals for the trip (All numbers rounded to the nearest whole number):

Sunday - Driving/Hollywood Studios/Downtown Disney - 3 miles
Monday- Animal Kingdom/Resort Hopping/Magic Kingdom- 5 miles
Tuesday- Hollywood Studios - 3 miles
Wednesday- Blizzard Beach/Resort Hopping/Downtown Disney- 3 miles (Miles not including Blizzard Beach)
Thursday - Magic Kingdom - 5 Miles
Friday - Epcot - 5 Miles

Total - about 24 Miles

I definitely think that I will be tracking the miles I walk on my next trip to see if they differ or not from this trip, I thought I would have walked a lot more than this in Disney. Maybe it just feels like a lot more.  I would be interested to hear from you; Have you ever tracked your miles that you walked in Disney? What was your results? Feel free to comment below and let me know!

Miles and Miles of Magic

I have joined this website called dailymile.com in order to help myself get motivated to work out and get healthy! It is a great website that allows you to meet other active people and help each other to work towards a goal.  I am signed up as a walker mainly, I am able log the miles that I walk throughout the day and during exercises.

I thought about how I could log the miles I walk during the week of my vacation in Disney, since there is OH so much walking there! I went out to the store and bought a pedometer. I have tested it out around the house and it is pretty accurate, so I will be using it during my days in Walt Disney World to see how much I walk. I have talked to some people who have used a pedometer on their trips before and the were surprised at how much walking you actually do! So throughout my trip, I will log the amount of steps I take and when I return, I will share here on the blog. I think it will be quite an interesting experiment!

Visiting the Magic...AGAIN!!

I never EVER thought I would be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth twice in one year, but its actually happened!!! While Chris and I were having the time of our lives in Walt Disney World, my parents were planning a surprise trip for our family, our first family trip in over 3 years!!

We are driving down to WDW, a 16 hour drive for us. We arrive in Florida on August 15th and are down for 6 days, leaving August 21st. Because it was planned on such short notice, it was hard to get accommodations and reservations that they wanted, but they did get some good places! We are staying at The All Star Sports Resort, a new experience for us!

Here's our schedule:

Sunday, August 15: Arrive, Possibly Hollywood Studios to catch TSM before it closes for refurb, Dinner at Can'n Jacks and walk around Downtown Disney
Monday, August 16: Breakfast at Boma, Animal Kingdom for the day, Downtown Disney at Night
Tuesday, August 17: Hollywood Studios, Mama Melrose's for Lunch, Fantasmic!
Wednesday, August 18: Blizzard Beach, Winter-Summerland Mini Golf, Dinner at The Wave, Magic Kingdom at Night
Thursday, August 19: Magic Kingdom, Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Friday, August 20: Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, Epcot all day
Saturday, August 21: Coming Home

Still in shock, cannot believe that I will be in Walt Disney World again! As we get closer, I will be finding out more details and post them, and you can assure that I will be tweeting the whole trip, including the drive for those of you who have never experienced a drive down to Walt Disney World!
